Summer digging and our unpredictable weather

June 14, 2016

The rain has been falling hard the last few days and that's fine with us. We wrapped up our "Spring" planting last week and had been irrigating consistently. The 80-90 degree temps in early June is a bit of a concern for the young, recently planted trees but the recent rain and cooler temps is a welcome relief.

Summer digging has never been something we enjoy but it's something we've always proceeded with under the right circumstances, and with tolerant varieties of course. Late last week we dug a large group of Parrotia and Magnolia kobus, all appear to have pulled through great.
