Description

Cornus florida is a stalwart native flowering tree which offers four-season appeal for both residential and commercial landscapes. 'Cherokee Brave' has an early show of burgundy/pink flowers followed by dark green foliage through the summer turning red/purple in fall. Fruits form 1/2in round glossy red in fall. Winter appeal provided by showy square patchwork bark patterns and horizontal-layered branching. Resistant to powdery mildew. Native eastern USA and west to Texas. Zone 5-8.
